Angela Dice Nguyen

Founding Artistic Director, Choreographer

Angela Dice Nguyen is a choreographer and teaching artist based in the Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C. metro area. Born in South Korea and raised in Southwestern Pennsylvania, Nguyen earned a BFA in dance from the Conservatory of Performing Arts at Point Park University under the direction of Susan S. Stowe. She has performed throughout the U.S. and abroad with DanceWorks Chicago, San Francisco Opera, Project.b., August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble, Robert Moses’ KIN, Dayton Arts Project, and The Mountain Playhouse (42nd Street and The Pajama Game), among others. Additional credits include appearances in Summit Entertainment’s Sorority Row and The New York Times bestseller Dancers Among Us, by photographer Jordan Matter.

Nguyen has worked closely in collaboration with Ahmad Simmons/Pursuit Productions and Princess Grace Award recipient Joshua Manculich to create, perform, and stage their works. In addition to producing The MoveMessenger(s), Nguyen has received choreographic commissions from various organizations, including James Madison University, Dance Theatre of San Francisco, Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, Dance Brigade’s D.I.R.T. Festival, Piel Morena Contemporary Dance, Collage Youth Ensemble, Dance Attack!, and Whitney M. Young Magnet High School.  She has taught technique and repertory classes for DanceWorks Chicago’s Dance360 Program, James Madison University’s Next Steps Summer Dance Intensive, Shenandoah University, Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, Pittsburgh CLO Academy of Musical Theater, Propel Charter Schools, and Laurel Arts Dance Center.

She enjoys connecting with communities as a writer and mother of two.
