Alex Carrington

Dancer

Alex Carrington was born in Little Rock, Arkansas. She trained at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, LINES Ballet Training Program, and privately with Nigel Burley. She has performed works by Nacho Duato, Iratxe Ansa, Ivan Perez, Marina Mascarell, Maurya Kerr, Katie Faulkner, Sidra Bell, Gregory Dawson, Ethan Stiefel, and Yin Yue. Alex is a member of tinypistol and is honored to be performing with The MoveMessenger(s).

Alexander Vargas

Dancer

Alexander Vargas of Lakeland, Florida began his dance training at Harrison School of the Arts his freshman year of high school. After 3 years Vargas transferred to Blake High School for the Arts based in Tampa and also studied as a trainee with Next Generation Ballet. Throughout his high school years Vargas also trained with Miami City Ballet, Orlando Ballet, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and LINES Ballet on full scholarships. Upon graduating Vargas attended the LINES Ballet Training Program. He has worked with choreographers including Peter Stark, Uri Sands, Jennifer Archibald, Iratxe Ansa, Carmen Rozestraten, Eric Wagner, Kara Davis, Maurya Kerr, and Gregory Dawson. Alexander was a company member with dawsondancesf in 2014-2016. Vargas has also worked for the Dallas Opera and is currently working with the San Francisco Opera and The MoveMessenger(s).

Amy Greene

Dancer

Amy began dancing in 1997, when she was three years old, after moving from Bromley, England to Bar Harbor, Maine. At six she began training at Springers Gymnastics Center, transitioning quickly from the recreational program to the competitive team. She was awarded both state and regional titles for her floor work. At 13 Amy decided to revisit her dance training at River City Dance in Ellsworth Maine. In 2009, after moving to North Carolina, Amy began training at the Raleigh School of Ballet. After a year of study she joined the Raleigh Dance theater, performing originally as a corp member and as a soloist during her senior year at Broughton High school. In 2012 Amy moved to San Francisco to continue her dance training in the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA program at Dominican University of CA. While at DU Amy performed original works by Gregory Dawson, Molly Rogers, Alivia Schaffer, Carmen Rozestraten, Julia Stiefel, Sidra Bell, and Maurya Kerr. Amy joined Angela Dice Nguyen and The MoveMessenger(s) in 2016 and is currently a freelance dancer in the Bay Area.

Carly Johnson

Dancer

Carly started dancing at the age of two training in Jazz, Tap and Ballet. She continued her studies at San Francisco’s School of the Arts High (SOTA), Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet and went on to complete her B.F.A. from S.U.N.Y. Purchase Conservatory of Dance. Carly had the opportunity to travel to China to perform at the International Children’s Arts Festival and has performed works by Ja’Malik of Ballet Boy Productions, Carmen Rozestraten, Nelly Van Bommel of NØA Dance and Andrea Miller of Gallim Dance. Currently she dances with Robert Moses’ KIN, RAWdance and Tanya Bello’s Project B. Carly is a certified Pure Barre instructor and with MDT agency as a fit model.

Claire Fisher

Dancer

Claire began her focus on professional training in 2012, branching out through intensives and training programs such as Alonzo King LINES Ballet, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Northwest Dance Project LAUNCH: 10. Through development programs such as these, Claire has had the opportunity to work with and perform works by Uri Sands, Maurya Kerr, Sandrine Cassini, Kara Davis, Iratxe Ansa, Banning Bouldin, Yoshito Sakuraba, and Alejandro Cerrudo. Residing in San Francisco, Claire continues to find inspiration by participating with current up and coming artists. She is thrilled to be a part of The MoveMessenger(s) and to be working with the fellow artists involved within the process.

Cooper Neely

Dancer

Cooper started dancing at the University of Texas at Ustinov where he was trained in contemporary and ballet by David Justin, Yacov Sharir, and Andrea Beckham and performed works by Ohad Naharin, William Forsythe, and others. Since graduating in 2012 with a BFA in dance, he trained at the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance under Summer Lee Rhatigan, Christian Burns, Alex Ketley and Tristan Ching. Cooper has danced professionally with BODYTRAFFIC, LevyDance, Bay Area Dance Collective and other local artists.

Dalmacio Payomo

Dancer

Dalmacio Payomo is a native of Oakland, CA and a graduate of the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA Program at Dominican University of California. After graduating from the BFA program he had the opportunity to perform the works of many Bay Area choreographers including Tanya Bello, Kara Davis, Maurya Kerr, Bliss Kohlmyer, Kimi Okada, Dexandro Montalvo, Robert Moses, and Casey Thorne.

Daniel Cho

Dancer

Daniel Cho is from Seoul, South Korea. He started dancing at Swarthmore College, and continued his training throughout his undergraduate years at Point Park Conservatory, the Laban Conservatoire in London, the Ballet X Summer Intensive, and the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. After graduating with a BA special major in Dance and Education, he trained with the Coastal City Ballet in Vancouver, BC where he danced soloist roles in world premieres by Wen Wei Wang and Joshua Beamish. Daniel is currently in his first year of the Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, and is thrilled to be working with The MoveMessenger(s).

Emily Adams

Dancer

Originally from Wayne, PA, pianist and seamstress Emily Adams has traveled from east coast to west coast working with dancers. As a ballet pianist, she has worked with the San Francisco Opera dance corps, the SF Ballet School, SF Conservatory of Dance, and Princeton Ballet School, and currently works as a class pianist for Boston Ballet School. An avid seamstress, Emily enjoys sewing clothes for herself, and has loved working with Angela to create costumes for new MoveMessenger(s) works.

Gretchen LaWall

Dancer

Gretchen began training extensively in Ballet and Jazz technique at a young age through Cary Ballet Conservatory in Cary, North Carolina. In 2012, she received her B.F.A. in Ballet, Jazz and Modern Dance Performance from the University of Arizona’s School of Dance on scholarship. Through UofA, highlighted opportunities included performing at the Joyce Theatre in NYC and within Martha Graham Dance Company’s performance of “Dance is a Weapon.” Immediately thereafter, she moved to Chicago, IL and began dancing professionally and teaching Pilates as aFletcher Pilates® Qualified Teacher. Professional experience includes but is not limited to SARAH BERGES Dance (Oakland, CA), River North Dance Chicago (Chicago, IL), LEVELdance (Chicago, IL) and Art.if.Act Dance Project (Tucson, AZ). Her professional career has offered her the opportunity to perform all over the US and the World including; Germany, Israel, Switzerland, Luxembourg and China.

Hayley Bowman

Dancer

Hayley originates from Charlotte, North Carolina where she trained with Charlotte Ballet (formerly known as North Carolina Dance Theatre). She has attended established schools across the country, including the National Ballet School of Canada. Hayley came to California to earn her degree in Dance with the Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA Program at Dominican University of California in 2014. She is a freelance dancer and teacher in the Bay Area, and the LINES Ballet BFA Program Coordinator. Hayley is also currently continuing to collaborate through dance film, and teaching abroad through the JUNTOS Collective. hayleydebockbowman.com.

Hien Huynh

Dancer

Hien Huynh began as a self-taught free form mover with exposure to break dance. He holds a B.A. in Dramatic Arts: Dance & Theater and a B.A. in Communication and was also a recipient of the Jere Curry award at UC DAVIS. Hien has performed in the works of Kim Epifano, Robert Moses’ Kin, PUSH, Kinetech Arts, David Grenke, Iu-Hui Chua, Bob McGrath, John Jasperse, Qudus Onikeku, and was invited by Anna Halprin to perform in Paper Danse. Through kinetic and communicative frequency, Hien aims to link closer the human to human, heart to heart connection.

Juliann Witt

Dancer

Juliann Witt was born in Marin and began dancing at the age of three. In her youth she studied at California Academy of Performing Arts and attended summer programs with American Ballet Theatre and Alonzo King’s LINES Ballet. She received her BFA from SUNY Purchase in New York. Currently a member of Dance Theatre of San Francisco, she has had the pleasure of working with many great artists including Robert Moses’ Kin, Lane Gifford, Sarah Bush, Nol Simonse, the San Francisco Symphony and Concept o4.

Kelly Del Rosario

Dancer

Kelly Del Rosario was born and raised in Mililani, Hawaii. He began his studies in dance in 2001 at the University of Hawaii and received his BFA in dance in 2005. Del Rosario has also studied capoeira in Hawaii, California and Brazil since 1998. Upon graduation he moved to San Francisco where he has worked with the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company, RAWdance, Sarah Bush Dance Project, Robert Moses’ Kin and Tanya Bello of project.b.

Linda Phung

Dancer

A native of Houston, Texas, Linda trained at the Houston Ballet Academy and West University Dance Center before moving to the Bay Area for college. She graduated from Stanford University with a BA in Human Biology and MA in Public Policy. As a dancer, she has worked with several companies in the Bay Area, including Lizz Roman & Dancers, Epiphany Productions, LevyDance, CALI & Co, and ka·nei·see collective.

Liv Schaffer

Dancer

Liv Schaffer is an artist and educator based in Oakland, California. Liv graduated from Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA Program at Dominican University of California in 2013 and has spent subsequent seasons performing with AXIS Dance Company, DanceWorks Chicago, and Robert Moses’ Kin. Liv works at the intersection of concert and community practices; developing curriculum, educating dancers, and creating choreographic commissions with organizations such as Jacob’s Pillow, Dance Exchange, Shawl Anderson Dance Center, Youth Art Exchange, University of San Francisco, and Alonzo King LINES Ballet BFA & Summer Programs.

Michael Galloway

Dancer

Michael Galloway is a freelance dancer, dance educator, and Pilates instructor. Originally from Madison, Alabama, he began his dance training at the Alabama School of Fine Arts and holds a BFA in dance from Butler University. He has performed with Tulsa Ballet, Company C Contemporary Ballet, ARC Dance Company, Oakland Ballet, Hope Mohr Dance, and Garrett + Moulton Productions.

Sharon Kung

Dancer

Sharon was born in New York and currently resides in the Bay Area. She received her early training at the Jean M Wong School of Ballet in Hong Kong and continued in the Bay Area before graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of California, Irvine with a BFA in Dance Performance and BA in Economics. Her repertory includes works by Amy Seiwert, George Balanchine, Lucas Crandall, William Forsythe, Bob Fosse, Yayoi Kambara, Molly Lynch, Dexandro “D” Montalvo, Robert Moses, and Donald McKayle. Her experience includes Dance Theatre of San Francisco, Kambara+Dancers, Oakland Ballet Company, and freelance projects in Amsterdam, Morocco, and San Francisco. Sharon joined The MoveMessenger(s) in May 2017.

Sonja Dale

Dancer

Sonja Dale was raised in Berkeley, California, where she began her training with Sally Streets at Berkeley Ballet Theater. Sonja has worked with companies on both sides of the US, including Lula Washington Dance Theater in Los Angeles, FACT/SF in San Francisco, and SYREN Modern Dance and KDNY Dance in New York City. She also recently toured internationally doing aerial dance with Australia Strange Fruit. She is thrilled to now be living in Berkeley again, and dancing for Liss Fain Dance, Sharp and Fine, The Mark Foehringer Dance Project, and now The Move Messengers! Love to JHN.

Stephanie Harvey

Dancer

Stephanie Harvey earned her BFA in Dance from Point Park University. She is a native of Pittsburgh, PA, where she trained and performed with H20 Contemporary Dance under artistic director, Danielle Pavlik. In 2011, she relocated to San Diego where she performed with Blythe Barton Dance, Khamla Somphanh, Malashock Dance, Michael Mizerany, and the San Diego Opera. In San Francisco, she has had the pleasure of performing with the Anata Project, Catherine Liu, Harper Addison, and Garrett+Moulton Productions. Stephanie teaches dance and acro throughout the Bay Area, spreading her love of movement.

Stephen DiBiase

Dancer

Stephen DiBiase grew up in Irvine, California. He received the majority of his training from the Ailey School, Alonzo King LINES Ballet Training Program, Jacob’s Pillow, Springboard Danse Montreal, and Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Currently a dancer with San Francisco Opera, Stephen also performs as a freelance artist in the Bay Area and has appeared with tinypistol, Oakland Ballet, Levy Dance, and The MoveMessenger(s), among others.

Victor Talledos

Dancer

Victor began his dance training at “Conservatorio de Danza” in Mexico City, graduated from “Escuela Superior de Musica y Danza de Monterrey” Monterrey, Mexico; in 2008 moved to NYC to attend the Ailey School for an intensive dance program. He has performed for “Proyectos en Movimiento” dance company and “Ballet Moderno de Mexico-Las Bestias” in Mexico, joined “J. Chen Project” in NYC. In 2010 moved to San Francisco to become part of the Bay Area Dance community and has worked for “Robert Moses’ Kin Contemporary Dance” ,“Copious Dance Theater”, “Labayen Dance San Francisco”, “Man Dance Company”, “Alayo Dance Company”, “The Anata Project”, “RAWDance SF” among others; as a choreographer Victor has shown his work at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, Dance New Amsterdam for the “Latin Choreographers Festival” in NYC, at the Garage Art Space, Dance Mission Theater and has been a guest choreographer for Labayen Dance, Copious Dance Theater and Emote Dance Theater. Victor has taught various techniques in places like Alonzo King Lines San Francisco Dance Center, ODC commons, Shawl Anderson Dance Center, Westlake School for the Performing Arts, master classes at Stanford University and workshops in Amarillo, Texas, Mexico City and Monterrey.

Besides being a dancer, Victor is also a photographer, visual artist and part time model.

Yue Ru Ma

Dancer

Yue Ru Ma was born in Singapore and was most recently a company dancer with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago 2. She began her formal dance education at School of the Arts Singapore (SOTA), and graduated summa cum laude from The Boston Conservatory, receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Contemporary Dance Performance, on The Boston Conservatory and Anne Cuervo-Philip Pionelli scholarship. She has worked professionally with Post:Ballet, Zoe Dance, Present-Day Dance Theater and Danza Organica, and has originated featured roles in works by Peter Chu, Alice Klock, Marco Goecke, Andrea Miller, Adam Hougland, Loni Landon, Dwight Rhoden, Uri Sands, Daniel Pelzig and Kuik Swee Boon, among others. She has also participated in intensives with prestigious companies and institutions such as Netherlands Dans Theater, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, BODYTRAFFIC and Northwest Dance Project’s LAUNCH. A strong advocate of interdisciplinary collaboration, she spearheaded a structured improvisation-based project that melded dance, music, film, technology and text to create an evening-length work. She was also a featured dancer in Luis Gamarra’s music video ‘Yoso Immigrante’, David Arregui’s ‘Dance’ and Daniel Young’s ‘Dream’. As an artist, she strives to always be honest, curious, and courageous, and impact this world meaningfully through the powerful language of dance. She is excited to be joining The MoveMessenger(s) for their upcoming project!
